Berze

About the site

The Bērze watermill complex consists of a 4-storey stone mill building (total area 2519m²), a farm building (200.4m²), a 540m long derivation channel, a 140m long outlet channel and a 55m wide dam.

The construction of the watermill complex was completed in 1863 and is an architectural monument of national significance. (No.4877).

After identifying the potential of this site, we purchase Berze watermill in 2022 and developed it in to a functional hydro power plant that is already selling power to the grid.

Currently it produces 335,000 KWh per year from 2 turbines. In 2023, we will install an additional 210,000 KWh of solar, increasing the total production to 545,000 KWh per year.

Also in 2023, we will install an electorylser on site to produce green hydrogen locally. This will allow us to develop the site in to a small hydrogen-based ecosystem to test various new technologies and concepts that can then be scaled for bigger applications.

An operating Hydro Power Plant (HPP) with an installed capacity of 118 KW.
The average annual production is around 450,000 kWh.

The construction of the watermill complex was completed in 1863 and is an architectural monument of national significance (No. 4877).

Has a powerful Gugler turbine installed and currently operating. Further equipment to be installed in the near future.
